Parent Forum (about... Smart Phones & kids)/Final Parent Coffee
Announcement: We would like to invite everyone to the final parent coffee of the year. It will be on 5/29 at 8:30 a.m., right after drop-off. We would love this to be an opportunity to catch up, share summer plans, and start an important conversation that we plan to continue in the next school year.
There is a new book, "The Anxious Generation" by Jonathan Haidt, about the impact smartphones, social media, and current technology have on children. This is uncharted territory as accessibility, and the speed with which technology is evolving is unprecedented. Many parents feel lost or overwhelmed with how to best navigate and manage this. We would love to begin a dialogue that we hope can be the start of fruitful, non-judgemental, and exploratory conversations about how to traverse through these sometimes challenging circumstances.
Additionally, if you have parent forum topics you'd like to request for the upcoming school year, please email them to Sara (sarajanetopping@gmail.com) & Julia (jules.travis@gmail.com).

Hosted in collaboration with Bridgehampton Childcare & Recreation Center, Bridgehampton School and Hyground School
Solar Eclipse Event
In Bridgehampton it starts at 2:13 and the height of the eclipse is 3:27 pm, ending around 4:30. Any parents who want to be on campus at dismissal are welcome to view with their children. We will have the special sunglasses available for all students who need them. Parents should bring their own in case there aren’t enough for all. The danger for vision will be around the peak period, so increasing and decreasing between 3:00 and 4:00 pm. The glasses should be worn during this peak period even though it will be darker part of the time.
