Lucy’s Class Notes
This month, we began the new year by creating vision boards to help foster a productive and motivated mindset. Students reflected on their goals, interests, and passions while brainstorming new things to try and skills to develop. This activity allowed them to start the year with clarity and excitement, laying the foundation for a successful and creative year.
Students have been diligently finalizing their animal research projects, preparing for an upcoming gallery walk to showcase their discoveries. This project has deepened their understanding of research skills and fostered a sense of pride in sharing their knowledge with others.
We’ve also been busy with the interview process for our Hayground Museum project. The class worked together to curate open-ended questions designed to spark meaningful conversations and capture the oral history of the Hayground community. Once the interviews are complete, we will edit and creatively incorporate the stories into our museum work.
We’ve celebrated personal and academic achievements, from cooking a whole-school lunch for the first time or finishing book series like Harry Potter and Bad Guys to coding games and being accepted into a summer dance intensive. Students continue to support one another and are now brainstorming new personal projects, including inventive ideas like creating an icicle-making machine, designing advertisements, and writing imaginative stories. This month has been filled with creativity, growth, and collaboration, and we look forward to seeing how these projects evolve!
