Erin & Tohanash's Class Notes
Last week, along with the sun came Shakespeare. We met the Shakespeare artists, JoJo, Kirsten and Luke, who
taught us the story of the play Macbeth. It has been fun checking in and warming up each day, sharing our expe-
rience with RJ’s class. This week we got our parts and have begun rehearsing our lines. We will also be painting
a picture for the Shakespeare Scramble. This entails getting a line from the play to illustrate. Once the paintings
are all done, we will unscramble the lines and put them into the order in which they come in the play.
In addition to our time with Macbeth, we have continued our work on the Rainbow. We have been sewing with
yarn of each color, and are almost ready to add fabric in the colors of the rainbow, as well as our collection of
colorful recyclables. It is shaping up nicely.
We are almost done with the photos and videos for our short movie of the poem, Life Doesn’t Frighten Me At
All by Maya Angelou. We are looking forward to seeing how it all looks once we put it together. We continue to
work on our writing projects, and have begun exploring wordless books which we borrowed from Marybeth’s
class. It gives us the opportunity to tell the story ourselves. It helps us when we write our own books, and we
see how much an illustration can tell us about a story. Some of the wordless books we have enjoyed are Mr.
Wuffles by David Wiesner, I Walk with Vanessa by Kerascoet, Flora and the Flamingo by Molly Idle and Time
Flies by Eric Rohmann. Some of us have added words to a wordless story illustrated by Erin. It is about a day in
the life of a frog. Lastly, we just finished reading James and the Giant Peach by Ronald Dahl.
