Marybeth and Helene's Class Notes

Last week our class made its second to last visit to Circle Beach as a part of our year of Sea Change. Much different than our last few visits, the kids enjoyed painting outside and exploring along the shoreline. They noticed more wildlife and people taking in the view along with them. We can't wait for the spring weather to arrive!

In other Hayground new, we are well into week two of Bruce Wolosoff's artist residency. Bruce visited each class and has been working with the children to create and play music based on the paintings and drawings of visual artists. The kids have become composers, musicians, choreographers and engaged audience members.

Last week Juliet Wolosoff, Bruce's daughter and former Hayground student, sang and played some of her own compositions for the school during one of our gatherings. The kids were captivated by the music and performance!

A demonstration of the musical compositions will take place during an early gathering next Tuesday, May 1st at 2pm. Please join us if you can!
