Amy's Class Notes
Amy's class naturalists are hard at work studying flora and fauna for this year's in-depth project! Each child had the opportunity to choose both a plant and an animal to study, with the only requirement being something that they are personally interested in researching. The topics are vast, and the findings thus far have been intriguing. Most recently, the children have been researching the anatomy of the plants and animals, as well as how systems work. Comparing the individual animals that the students are studying to their own bodies has been fascinating. Connections are evident and meaningful as the children work.
One of the most exciting projects that we participate in each year is "Budding Authors," which is a program hosted by the Hampton Library in Bridgehampton. Each child will embark on writing their own book, which will be on display at the library for all of the members of our community to enjoy. We are currently in the rough draft process with our books. Children have been looking at how the books that they most love are written. What makes those books so fun? Why do we love to read some books again and again? Ask your child what they are writing about. We all love to talk about what interests us most. — January 26th, 2024
