Tohanash and Lora’s Class Notes
We began and ended December with classroom guests Naire, Elli, Jojo and Kirsten of Shakespeare & Company. We had an incredible time learning about Romeo and Juliet. Over the course of three weeks we played, sang and danced all while learning our lines. We are so proud of all the growth during this short period of time each child was able to experience and the outstanding performance! In between Shakespeare practice we received a special treat...Vivian’s Mom, Dad, and GG brought us Latkes and read us the story of Hanukkah. Thank you for sharing with us! We also made time to make herbal soap and ornaments to give as gifts to our families. We ended December with a pajama holiday party. Thank you to all the parents that organized and contributed to the gift bags, food, and holiday art activity. It was such a sweet way to conclude 2023.
This January, as we ease back into the routines of the class, we are beginning to see some really big changes around the room. Our Underwater Sea Wall is filling up with colorful renditions of seahorses, sharks, jellyfish, and the like. A recent read aloud book, “Mr. Seahorse” by Eric Carl helped us think of the ways in which daddy fish care for their baby eggs. Our aquarium has also seen some changes. We received three new fish which we are working together to name. We currently have over twenty names between the three fish. This gives us a unique and meaningful reason to work collaboratively.
