Erin and Kevin's Class Notes
Fall is upon us! The warm weather means lots of time outside. We’ve been creating di-nosaur soup in the mud kitchen, cutting down sunflowers with Jon Snow, and getting soaked at the water table. In the classroom we have been getting used to our daily routines. This includes doing our jobs, cleaning up after ourselves, and having discussions in the meeting area. During one of our discussions we decided on the kind of behavior we wanted in our meeting area and made a list of them together. We have read many stories, as well. We began with books about school, like The Pigeon Has To Go To School by Mo Willems, and Splat the Cat by Rob Scot-ton. We are currently reading books about being scared, Halloween tales, and the occasional frog book.
Once a week we have been enjoying visits from Maria Lavezza, Rosa’s mom. She has been teaching us songs in Spanish. Ask your children to sing La Vaca Lola for you! We’re also learning phrases and counting to ten in Spanish. It has been muy bien!
Last week we met our reading buddies from Marybeth and RJ’s class. We found cozy places to sit in our classroom and read wordless books together. We will do this each Friday.
