JULIE and ARJUN'S CLASS NOTES
Is this our first week back from Spring Break? We’ve been so busy this week that it feels like we’ve been back longer, yet the week has flown by! We had an amazing visit to the Marders’ farm, and we’re all jealous that Indie and Eider get to live there.
We were able to hold a class meeting in our willow dome, which has started sprouting green leaves. It is exciting to see the structure of the dome come together as the foliage grows.
After discussing the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which was written by the newly created UN delegates from different countries after WWII, our class focused on one question; How can we invent or design something to ensure every human lives with “Peace, dignity, equality, on a healthy planet”? And how can we bring awareness to issues that may not effect us directly? We also discussed Hayground’s Daily Expectations, and wondered if there are things we can create to ensure that every expectation is being experienced everyday. The students have some fantastic ideas already!
