LUCY'S CLASS NOTES

Solving the mystery in Chasing Vermeer was a significant moment for us this past month. We had a blast learning the elements of a mystery and being able to step in the shoes of an investigator.

We are enthusiastic about applying everything we learned about a mystery to create our original mysteries. Over the next few weeks, we will work on our mystery creation while preparing for budding authors. We look forward to publishing our books in the library.

Over the past month, we explored how choreographers have helped spread awareness about topics and issues through movement. Everyone has picked a topic, become experts on the topic, and is ready to spread awareness! The second half of this project will be designing t-shirts, choreographing a dance, and recording it to share with friends and families. Continue to have sustained conversations about the topics chosen!

We are focusing on disco culture this month as we prepare for Soul Food Night. We are learning about black disco singers and classic disco dance moves. We look forward to performing a disco dance and getting the crowd involved with the bus stop!

We will be closed on March 10, 2023, for staff development. We also have a field trip to the Southampton Arts Center on March 21, 2023, and Soul Food Night is on March 23, 2023. Let us know if you would like to volunteer your time to speak about culture or cultural dance with our group
