Mbachi's Class Notes

Your children have been working diligently the past few weeks. They gave a presentation on their research of African American History which was incred-ible withstanding the challenges of Zoom. They presented their own poems based on the "What Shall We Tell You” poem from the We Rise We Resist po-etry book written and Illustrated by many different authors. Our class also presented their beautifully drawn illustrations which were inspired by "The Hill We Climb" by Amanda Gorman. The students timed the film to line up with the poem. They did a great job with this sometimes difficult task.

On Tuesday, we had our Budding Authors celebration via Zoom and the

Bridgehampton Library. Susan Verde, writer of "The Museum" was the pub-lished author guest. The kids had a chance to ask her questions about writing and her process. They left the celebration feeling acknowledged and appreci-ated as authors. Their books and reviews are currently being displayed at the Bridgehampton Library.
