SEIYA'S CLASS NOTES
"To be, or not to be?" Is apparently the question the sun is asking itself on a daily basis but at least some warm
weather is starting to hit us. While May has not made its presence felt, the excitement of the upcoming activities has
certainly snatched our attention.
Earlier this month was dedicated to finishing our novel study of Flora and Ulysses; resulting in our last major book
of the year. We cheered on a squirrel superhero while maintaining a certain apathy toward the self-proclaimed cynical
sidekick.
Our participation in the Budding Author's program was a relative success and our works are being hosted at the
Bridgehampton Library for others to enjoy. The experience taught us all the importance of maintaining a deadline and
a healthy appreciation for the complexity of the writing process.
Next, we learned a little bit about circuity and made paper circuit cards in class as well as a variety of flashlights,
wands, and light-up pet rocks. I look forward to all of the unique ways we can add a little light to everyday objects.
Finally, the long-awaited arrival of the Shakespearean troupe to guide us on our journey through "Much ado
about nothing". After a week of practicing, illustrating, and then scrambling up lines, we have received our parts so
please begin practicing with your child this weekend and every day that you are able.
We are approaching the end of the school year and a whirlwind of exciting adventures are about to unfold. I can
not wait to continue on this journey and look forward to everything that the end of the year has to offer.
