Tohanash & Lora’s Class Notes

Congratulations! We completed our first weeks of school together! We are already off to a great start. Thank you to all our families for joining us on our annual Hayground Apple Picking adventure and to those who made it to our parent gathering.

We began the year rekindling old friendships and making new friends. We are familiarizing ourselves with our classroom and and school buildings, playing group games and taking excursions throughout our sprawling campus. Thank you to families for sending in photos of yourselves so we can hang them in our classroom. It really makes Hayground feel like home. In addition, we have completed our first round of special classes; Science with Hannah and Garden with Mark Antonio and Aisa.

We have spent plenty of time in our outdoor classroom. The newly revamped mud kitchen, jungle gym and rainbow climber have been some of the highlights of our outdoor spaces. As the temperature slowly begins to drop, we will spend as much time as we can comfortably outdoors. Please make sure your child has clothing for all types of weather including cold mornings and warm afternoons.

This week we started our music lessons with Hudson Music; these will continue every Monday afternoon and Friday morning. We also hosted our first classroom guest, Ella Engel-Snow who is a Hayground alum, master gardener and good friend of Tohanash. She will be the first in a series of friends visiting to help us understand the bonds of friendship. — September 27, 2024
