Charlie's Class Notes

2018 has gotten off to a great start with our residency at the Watermill Center. There, we are working hard to produce an original work of theater based on the novel Seedfolks, by Paul Fleischman. Each student has selected a chapter from the text and has crafted some work of Theater inspired from it. You are invited, as are friends of the school, to attend a performance of our work at the Watermill Center on Wednesday, January 31, between 1:30-2:30 PM.

Formal invitations with RSVPs will follow next week. Also, for those students who can attend, the Watermill Center would like us to conduct an "Open Rehearsal" on Saturday, January 27 from 2-4 along with the two other artists-in-residence. This rehearsal is voluntary for students, but it will give them a chance to see the work of the other artists-in residence. ..... The Studio and Culinary Arts programs have also undertaken special projects this month. The students in Studio have read about the science of trees and have been making sculptures of trees to assist Jon Snow in preparing this year's Parrish Art Museum Exhibit. Joan Turturro, the owner and chef of the Orient Inn in Orient, NY has returned, along with Chef Philippe Jacquet, to work with students in the Culinary Arts program to produce a Middle Eastern inspired meal for the school's lunch.
