Julie’s Class Notes
Our first three days of school were a great success. We spent time getting to know who we are individually and as a class community. We set norms that will help us maintain a class environment that works best for all of us, played games, and created beautiful art to brighten our walls. The kids had a great time swimming in the pool as well!
We read First Day Jitters, and Invisible Boy that led to discussions about universal feelings and “seeing” our peers for who they are. All in all, we are off to a great start! We are thrilled to have Jackie Dandelion with us in class Monday-Wednesday.
Math and Gymnastics begin on Monday. Math begins promptly at 8:30. If your child is late, please have them check in with Cheryl in the office before coming to math.
Additionally, our class will have Studio, Kitchen and Science Wednesday afternoons and Thursday mornings. The students will be in three groups and classes will rotate throughout the year. Garden workshops will be available for the kids to sign up at different times during the week.
Our discussion of waste and what we can do to reduce it begins on Monday . Please remind your child to bring in something broken, ripped, damaged, or even a material that they can imagine a new use for. — September 14, 2024
